Our Story

The Kenya Peace and Security Support Initiative (KEPSSI) is a non-political, non- profit Community Based Organization based in Mombasa operating in different parts of Coast Region.

The initiative main aim is to promote peacefull co-existent, community safety and sustainable development including the general improvement of the living standards of people in the region.  This is being achieved through public awareness, capacity building and sensitization programs for the community and the security agencies.

These programs empower the people to participate in peace and security matters where they eventually reduce crime and insecurity in their locality and also adopt useful skills for self-reliance. The organization has previously carried out such activities in Mombasa and other parts of Coast region where it brought together members of different religions and ethnic backgrounds to coexist in peace and harmony.

The main goal of the organization is to complement government efforts in enhancing peaceful Co-existence among different communities and improving security at the local level.

The organization will work with the Ministry of Interior, the National Government Administration Offices, the National Police Service, the National Counter Terrorism Centre, the County governments, Private Sector, Development partners, Local and International NGOs, local leaders and the communities among others.

The organization also intends to partner with and assist the government in preventing crime and violent extremism among youths in the region.

The Capacity building activities shall target Peace Committees, Community Policing Committees and the youths in collaboration with local leaders and the government.

KEPSSI mission is to facilitate, support and empower the society to actively participate in promoting peaceful coexistence, community safety and good governance for sustainable development
